Director’s Message

Dear Students, Staff and Parents,

Welcome back to yet another academic year, 2022-2023, as DBIS turns 8 years old. We have rebounded after almost two years in lockdown to having classes and examinations in person, and enjoying field trips and picnics as well. Staging the musical Hairspray on the occasion of our Annual Thanksgiving Day was yet another achievement, thanks to the Principal, Core team and all the staff.

Our first batch of 12th graders answered their IBDP exams in May 2022. Most of them have received scholarships to renowned universities. We wish our graduating students the very best for their future studies. The additional floor to our school building is nearing completion despite challenges encountered during the lockdown ... . It will soon be ready to house our 11th and 12th graders. We will also be starting the A levels of the Cambridge curriculum in July 2022.

The ‘Strenna’ for this year invites us to “Do all through Love, nothing through constraint.” We begin to bloom when we are nurtured and educated in a loving environment. This theme will inspire our activities and actions through the coming academic year.

DBIS has come of age. We look forward to the new academic year with renewed energy and optimism. Students, Staff and parents all need to work collaboratively to reach the goals we have set for ourselves.

We mourn the death of Fr. Bernard Fernandes, the Principal of the High School. He was an outstanding educator and has left behind a legacy for others to follow. We pray that the Almighty may grant eternal rest to his soul. Fr. Crispino D’Souza, our former Director, will take Fr. Bernard’s place as Principal of the High School. I would like to place on record our thanks to Fr. Crispino for enthusiastically and inspiringly leading DBIS to new heights across the last five years. He will continue to be with us as the Rector of DBIS.

The handbook is carefully planned to guide us through the year ahead. I request everyone to familiarize themselves with it, and to support its implementation. May we always be a vibrant community of learners, innovators and transformers who build a just and caring global society.

My good wishes to all as we begin the new academic year.

Warm Regards,
Fr. Ajoy Fernandes

Principal's Message

Dear Students,

With great pleasure and a wonderful sense of anticipation, Don Bosco International School extends you a warm welcome.

A new academic year, old COVID-19 restrictions and the tingling anticipation of renewing ties with the physical classroom towards the latter part of the year, we have a lot to look forward to as we move ahead with purpose. All of you are well experienced with the nuances of the lockdown and have built a plethora of skills to adapt and excel while moving ahead. Our children believe in dreams and have the gumption to live them, a confidence nurtured within the portals of DBIS....

We are one large family with a strong happiness quotient focused on the overall development of the student. Our curriculum is designed for fortitude and stamina as we walk the path of success. DBIS pedagogy through a century old, has maintained the quality of development in a child centered environment. The dynamism of the pedagogy has ensured that our system stays current and relevant, and the past year tested our mettle.

The infrastructural limitations of virtual learning did not hamper our progress in meeting the requirements of syllabi, proud to say, we did more. DBIS has a very transparent and inclusive policy sans power gap. The management and staff are approachable by the students during school hours and parents with appointments.

As future leaders and responsible citizens our students are motivated to speak with measure and without fear, being mindful, always God bless all our students to Create, Innovate and Transform at DBIS.

Warm Regards,
Ms. Meena Saldanha
